- Heavy floods occurred on 26th August in my home city Karachi which was caused by unexpected monsoon rains creating chaos and destruction. This disaster left many in misery. People in Karachi were narrating tales of distress, raising their voices and participating in protests against the poor infrastructure, lack of proper urban planning, government’s corruption and mismanagement.
- People in Karachi are currently narrating tales of distress, raising their voices and participating in protests. I’ve based my 8 themes on what the victims of Karachi are currently complaining about and created a flag chain made of seed paper. Each flag represents a different issue. This design was a way to remind people of the issues that took place because of a natural disaster and government lack of planning. My visual system was designed sensitive to the location which I think is a huge element to consider when designing with a social responsibility.
